Macon Whoopees (SHL)

Not to be confused with Macon Whoopee (ECHL) or Macon Whoopee (CHL).

The Macon Whoopees are a defunct professional ice hockey team that played in the Southern Hockey League (SHL) during the 1973–74 season. Based in Macon, Georgia, the team played its home games at Macon Coliseum. The Whoopees were affiliated with both the Houston Aeros and Cleveland Crusaders of the World Hockey Association.[1]

Coached by Keke Mortson, the team compiled a record of 22 wins, 38 losses, and 2 ties prior to folding on February 15, 1974 after playing just 62 games.[2]
