Luisa Marvelia Ortega Díaz (11 January 1958) is a Venezuelan lawyer who currently serves as Chief Prosecutor of the Republica Bolivariana de Venezuela, a position she held by appointment of the National Assembly, on December 13 of 2007, for the period 2008 - 2014. She was born in Valle de la Pascua in the state of Guárico on 11 January 1958. She earned her law degree from the University of Carabobo, located in Carabobo state. She specialized in criminal law at the Universidad Santa Maria (where she is currently professor) and Procedural Law at the Catholic University "Andres Bello", both located in Caracas. She also served as a legal consultant to the state TV channel Venezolana de Television , entering thereafter, the Public Ministry in April 2002.[1]
