Chronology

The Jesuits of the Chennai Mission founded Loyola ITI in 2003,[1] at the invitation of the Catholic Bishop of Vellore and in pursuit of their own vision: to provide a need-based training for unemployed youth, along with an integral education.[2] Loyola is situated on 15 acres of land on the bank of the river Palar at Ranipet in Vellore District, 125 km west of Chennai and 25 km east of Vellore. Ranipet is an industrial town hosting companies like BHEL, EID Parry, Greaves, SAME (Tractors), and Malladi.[3]

The institution opened on 31 July 2003 with the name Loyola Technical Training Centre (LTC), offering two courses: electrician and two-wheeler mechanism.
