Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute Library, FMHI, is a research library located on the University of South Florida Tampa campus.

History

The Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute Library opened in 1974 under the direction of the Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI) and the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitation Services (HRS). The FMHI library was conceived by W.D. Rogers, forger Director of Florida's Department of Health and Rehabilitation Services and E. Arthur Larson, former Coordinator of the Division of Mental Health. Their vision was for the library to be a "professional library which will...[house] various library materials of specific subject matter".[1]

Currently the collection consists of e-resources, monographs, serials and archives. The focus of the collection is on mental health research, policy, and treatment; behavioral and mental healthcare; public health policy.
