Provenance

The Canary Islands due to their temperate climate offer a wide selection natural produce. The meats produced on the islands include Pork, Chicken, Ostrich, Goat, Rabbit and Lamb and the locally caught fish include Sea Bass (Lubina), Sea Bream (Dorada), Sardines and Mackerel. While some products have to be imported the large majority of the produce used by the restaurant is sourced from the Canary Islands.

History

The village of Los Abrigos is well known locally as a place to eat fresh fish and the Harbour has twelve restaurants in total, with nine of these serving fish. In 2005 the current owners purchased the restaurant, which at that time was an Italian restaurant called Antica Italia. After an extensive refurbishment, Los Roques Restaurante opened on Tuesday 4 October 2005. In November 2013 it was included in a list of the top 10 fine dining restaurants in Spain in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Awards"TripAdvisor Travellers' Awards 2013". Retrieved 2013-11-01. .
