The Lister Hospital

The Lister Hospital in Chelsea is a private hospital in Chelsea Bridge Road, London, run by the Hospital Corporation of America. Opened in 1985, it occupies the buildings in Chelsea previously occupied by the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine. It is named in honour of Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister, a British surgeon known as the pioneer of aseptic surgery.

It has 57 beds in inpatient wards on three floors and a six-bedded Critical Care Unit. It specialises in orthopaedics, gynaecology, dermatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and plastic surgery, and runs the Lister Fertility Clinic.

It generates revenue per bed of £1.073m a year. [1](subscription required)
