List of hedge funds

Here are the ten largest hedge funds in the world ranked by assets under management as of early 2016. Only assets in private funds following hedge fund strategies are counted. Some of these managers also manage public funds and offer non-hedge fund strategies. For example, BlackRock is the largest investment manager in the world with $4.6 trillion assets under management in all types of funds[1] and AQR Capital Management is the largest provider of public mutual funds following hedge fund strategies with $23 billion in public hedge fund assets under management in addition to the $47 billion of private assets listed below, and an additional $90 billion in traditional investment funds.[2]
