List of Presidents of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
This is an incomplete list of the Presidents of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Formally incorporated as a Craft Guild of Edinburgh in 1505 (as the Barber Surgeons of Edinburgh), the society was granted a new charter by King George III in 1778, giving it the title of "The Royal College of Surgeons of the City of Edinburgh". Prior to 1778 the President was referred to as the Deacon or Kirkmaster.
The President is normally elected in November and now serves for 3 years.
