List of Pinoy Big Brother (season 1) housemates
This is a list of housemates that participated in the first season of Pinoy Big Brother, a reality game show based on the Dutch reality show Big Brother.
Rico
Frederick "Rico" Barrera (born December 29, 1981) is a 23-year-old from Olongapo City, Philippines. A singer who worked in Japan, Rico was automatically nominated for committing several grave violations, including jumping into the pool while wearing his lapel mic and accidentally triggering the fire alarm while trying to cook. He was evicted on Day 21.
Chx
Chiqui Llamaso "Chx" Alcala (born June 29, 1981) is a 24-year-old from Caloocan City. Introduced to the show as a very liberated woman, Chx was known for having dalliances with some of the housemates, most notably Cass and Sam. She was automatically nominated for asking Jenny minutes after her return on Day 56 about the crowd outside the Big Brother House, in violation of show rules prohibiting Housemates from asking any new members about the outside world. Chx was eventually evicted on Day 63.
Jason
Jason Lorenzo Camangyan Gainza (born April 27, 1980) is a 25-year-old from Batangas City. A former Overseas Filipino Worker who once worked in Saudi Arabia, Jason is known for playing pranks on the other housemates. He was crowned the second Big Placer on Day 112.
Nene
Jennivev "Nene" Santillan Tamayo (born September 27, 1981) is a 23-year-old from Romblon province. A former ROTC officer, Nene graduated from the University of the East and is best known for her long stamina and leadership skills. She was crowned the show's first Big Winner on Day 112.
Bob
Jun Bob Dela Cruz (born August 10, 1977) is a 28-year-old from Marilao, Bulacan. He is a politician who lost a bid in the 2004 elections for a municipal council seat in his hometown. He was forcibly evicted on Day 51 after being hospitalized the day before because of a heart ailment that resulted in a blackout, per a rule giving housemates who left the House under special circumstances 24 hours to get back inside. Bob eventually returned to the House for a few minutes on Day 52 to formally bid his housemates farewell.
Say
Sherylle Ann "Say" Alonzo Yutadco (born August 6, 1983) is a 22-year-old from San Juan, Metro Manila. A hotel and restaurant management graduate from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Say is a former cheerleader and court-side reporter for the NCAA. She is known for the show's first on-camera romance (with JB) and creating the love song Magmahal Muli (To Love Again) with Sam. Say was the last evictee of the season, exiting on Day 105.
Cass
Lejanie Palma Anigan also known as Cassandra Ponti (born March 1, 1980) is a 25-year-old from Davao City. She worked as a model, gracing the pages of FHM with the screen name Honey V. Cass became the Third Big Placer on Day 112.
JB
Joseph Benedict "JB" Aquino Magsaysay (born July 6, 1980) is a 25-year-old from La Union. A graduate of the Philippine School of Business Administration and distant relative of the late Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, JB lived in several gated subdivisions in Metro Manila with his family until settling in La Union to manage their business. He is known for his relationship with Say. JB was evicted on Day 35, but had a 100-second reunion with Say two days later. The reunion concept eventually became a fixture in future seasons. However, the couple broke up over issues linking him to Angelica Panganiban (over the course of a task reading stuff from the outside world).
Racquel
Racquel Acosta Reyes (born January 20, 1974) is a 31-year-old from Tanauan City, Batangas. She worked as a grade-school teacher before entering the show. Known among the housemates as "Mommy Racquel," she survived the first two nominations before being evicted on Day 49.
Uma
Uma Barum Khouny (born November 4, 1981) is a 23-year-old from Israel. Born of an Arab-Israeli father and Filipino mother, Uma had applied for a residency permit in the country at the time he joined the show. He is known for his frank and straightforward attitude, let alone never having been nominated over the course of the season. He emerged as the fourth Big Placer on Day 112.
Jenny
Jennifer "Jenny" Suico (born February 3, 1976) is a 29-year-old from Olongapo City. A married mother of one, she auditioned for the show out of boredom after returning from a stint in Japan as an entertainer. However, she made a voluntary exit on Day 28 to tend to her foster father, who was in critical condition at the time. She made the choice to leave after claiming to seek a sign from Divine Providence based on whether a housemate would carry her at all - if a man carried her, she would stay; if a woman did, she would leave. Nene eventually carried her during a light moment. Her foster father died five days after she left the house.
Jenny did return on Day 56 as part of a new twist called "The Big Switch," during which evicted housemates would have a chance to get back inside. She was eventually evicted on Day 84.
Franzen
Franzen Macaraig Fajardo (born April 18, 1982) is a 23-year-old from Sampaloc, Manila. Married with one child, Franzen became popular among lower-class audiences because of his humble roots and comedic nature. Franzen ran afoul of Big Brother for committing several violations - including mouthing words to Cass - and got nominated several times in the process, but popular vote kept him inside the house. Deliberations between the show producers and consultants from Endemol over the mouthing of words resulted in a decision to evict him on Day 86. However, Cass offered to voluntarily exit to keep Franzen inside; Big Brother considered her offer and let the public choose Franzen's fate. The next day, however, voting was stopped and Franzen's forced eviction was finalized after he violated the rules again by discussing with Jason his last chat with Big Brother inside the confession room. He eventually left the house on Day 91.
Sam
Samuel Lloyd Lacia Milby (born May 23, 1984) is a 21-year-old from Troy, Ohio. A commercial model by trade, Sam entered the house one hour after Jenny left on Day 28 and was initially called "Housemate S." Sam was linked with Chx and wrote a love song with Say. He was evicted on Day 77.
