In the Star Wars universe, many states, planetary and interplanetary, are similar to the tyrannical military dictatorship known as the Galactic Empire (19 BBY-4 ABY(canon)/19 BBY-11 ABY(Legends)), this is a list of this states.

The Empire of the Hand

In the Expanded Universe, Grand Admiral Thrawn is the leader of this empire, in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy.

The Empire of the Hand defends Palpatine's Empire from the Unknown Regions inhabitants and the Yuuzhan Vong.

The "Pentastar"

In the Legends Expanded Universe, this is a symbol invented by the Sith thousands of years prior the destruction of the first Death Star, a planet-destroying moon-seized space station.

The Galactic Republic is also often using this symbol, known also as the Imperial insignia.

Various states are also using this symbol as their insignia or emblem.
