Liaoning Medical University (LMU; Chinese: 辽宁医学院; pinyin: Liáoníng Yīxuéyuàn) is in Jinzhou, Liaoning, China. It was founded in 1946. Liaoning Medical University (LMU) is located in the coastal city of Jinzhou in Liaoning Province, east of Beijing.

The University is represented officially in India by Medico Abroad located at Hyderabad. The first batch of foreign students for English Medium Under Graduate Course in Medicine from India completed their Degree in 2010.

The campus covers 1,140,000 square meters and has floor-space 279,000 square meters. It lies in the north of the city. The LMU offers six kinds of education: general high education, state-owned privately run education, adult education, vocational education, online education and international students` education. It enrolls undergraduate and postgraduate students. The University is recognised by World Health Organization WHO and listed in the world medical directory.[1]

There are 16 teaching departments, 98 teaching offices, 56 teaching laboratories, 4 affiliated comprehensive hospitals and 169 bases for teaching and practice. The university's curriculum comprises 21 specialized undergraduate subjects, 32 master's degree programs and 1 doctor degree program.

The university now has 858 full-time teachers, including 747 full-time teachers who have master's degrees, 194 full-time teachers with a doctorate, 451 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, 171 full-time professors. The school has a "Cheung Kong Scholars Program" distinguished professor, National Teacher Award winner, the Ministry of Education Teaching Steering Committee serving four people, New Century Talents Project state candidate 1, has won the State Council special allowance of 24 people, the Ministry of Health outstanding contributions of young experts, Liaoning Province outstanding experts 3, "Liaoning Provincial Higher climbing scholars support the plan" has selected 4 people, Liaoning Professor 4 people, Liaoning Province Distinguished Teacher obtain in 6 people, middle-aged academic leaders, Liaoning Province, Liaoning Province, "millions of Talents Project" candidates, Liaoning Province, 64 outstanding young teachers.

The university’s library has an advanced electronic reading room and has access to the retrieval system for medical documents from the American MEDLINE and the Chinese Medical Institute.

The total number of students has amounted to 12,247 of which over 1000 are international students, of whom majority are currently studying in the undergraduate program taught in English and others studying postgraduate program. Furthermore, the university is actively involved in international academic exchange activities with universities abroad, such as the University of Glasgow and regularly exchanges scholars and specialists to give lectures. About 120 teachers have been sent to more than 20 countries to study and involve in research.

College of International Education

The College of International Education (CIE) was established in April 2004 as a part of the International Exchange Department ( IED) of Liaoning Medical University.

IED is a functional organization responsible for academic work related to foreign affairs. It is designated to carry out the national foreign policies and educational policies. Its function is to strictly follow the foreign policies and the rules of foreign affairs management. In practice, IED takes care of the managing, guiding, coordinating, and providing services for all the foreign-related work in Liaoning Medical University.

The IED consists of the Educational Administrative Office and the Dormitory Administrative Office. The College of International Education is a parallel college to the IED with the same staff. Presently Prof. Liang Zhong Bao (Paul) is the Dean and Prof. Bettina is Vice-dean of CIELMU.

CIE is one of the youngest but the most vigorous departments in Liaoning Medical University (LMU). It has been putting a lot of effort in recruiting medical students with multiple educational backgrounds. CIE provides medical courses for international medical graduates and at the same time offers the possibility for international students to get a better understanding of Chinese society and culture.

The total number of students has amounted to 12,247 of which about 1000 are international students, which has more than 300 students are from India, 400 various nations of Africa and the rest from Pakistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Russia and Saudi Arabia. They are currently studying in the undergraduate & post graduate programs taught in English.

The campus covers 1,189,000 square meters and has floor-space totaling 391,000 square meters. The university has set up 17 secondary level teaching units, 10 research centers. Attached to the school, there are 5 comprehensive hospitals and 169 teaching and practice bases. 1 program which can confer doctoral degree. There are 14 branches of learning, which can grant master's degrees, 49 specialized undergraduate subjects. And 3 key subjects of provincial level. 1 provincial-level key laboratory and 5 provincial-level key medical specialties. The number of the students has amounted to about 15000.About 500 of which are graduate students. About 9000 are undergraduates and the rest are students receiving adult higher education and night school courses. There are 219 professors or chief doctors and 533 associated professors, 74 with doctor degree, 315 with master's degree,120 of them used to receive education abroad. Hundreds of teachers and researchers, for their out-standing achievements, have won the honor of “Excellent Teacher” and “Talented Person With Great Abilities for Science and Technology” by national government and local government. 13 of them obtained the government exceptional subsidies. And 11 of them were selected into the national and province “Thousands Talents Project”.
