Li Xin’ai (born April 10, 1990), also known as Li Zhen, a Chinese singer, actress. She was born, raised in Xi’An, China, with a quarter of Russian origin.[1] Without any acting experience before, she was chosen to be the female lead in Jay Chou’s second movie The Rooftop, which would release on July 11, 2013 in Mainland China. On May 27, 2013, the press conference of the movie “The Rooftop” was held in Beijing, first time reveal the female lead for the movie, according to executive producer Will Liu, it was a coincidence to find Li, Xin’ai when he crossing the road and find the in the other side fitted to the female lead in the movie character setting. Li, Xin’Ai was found by the executive producer Will Liu coincidently when she crossing the street. Thus Li, Xin’Ai became a “Cinderella of the zebra crossing”.[2][3]

In January 2014, Li Xin’Ai started shooting her new drama Legend of Ban Shu (班淑传奇)[4]

Life and career

Li Xin’Ai was born in Shan’Xi, Xi’An,her father was a police officer and her mother was a doctor. Li Xin’ Ai studied accounting when she was in university, after finishing university, she went to Taiwan to have some performance class. Li Xin’Ai didn’t have any acting experiences before until the film’s executive director Will Liu coincidentally found her. She successfully became the female lead in Jay Chou’s movie, and thus people also called her “The Cinderella in the crossing zebra” .[5][6]

Personal life

Li Xin’ Ai has said she would have been an accountant had she not met Will Liu. The executive producer of the film “The Rooftop[7] ”. However, she now wants to concentrate herself on the film industry. And after the screening of “The Rooftop”, she starred in her new drama “Legend of Ban Shu”. The drama is the story of a female teacher, in the Han dynasty. Besides from her career, Li Xin’ Ai describes herself as an outgoing person. She admires Anna Hathaway in Batman, because she said, "a girl like this was cool". Also, Li Xin’ Ai’s hobbies include reading comic books, working out and reading.[8]
