Lepisiota canescens is a species of ant in the subfamily Formicinae. Found in Africa, they are capable of forming super-colonies.
It is a highly invasive ant species living in Ethiopian forests . It is already moving out of the forests into agricultural land and construction sites. And, supercolonies spanning as much as 38 kilometres have been found. Scientists believe that this ant species [1] has the potential of spreading all over the world and posing threats to other ants.
