LKQ Corporation is an American auto parts company. The company is focused on providing wholesale used and refurbished auto parts via its subsidiaries across the United States and the world.[2] As of 2014, it was a Fortune 500 corporation.[3] The company also operates facilities selling recycled automotive products.[4]

History

LKQ Corporation was founded by Donald Flynn in 1998 with the purchase of Triplett Automotive Recycling in Akron, OH. Flynn remained chairman of the corporation until his death in 2011.[5] Since inception, it has greatly expanded, primarily through over 200 acquisitions of used and refurbished auto parts suppliers and manufacturers.[1]
