Samir Djourhlel (born 2 May 1981 in Marseille, France), more commonly known as L'Algérino, is a French rapper of Algerian descent whose family came from Khenchela, Algeria. He is signed to Sinik's Six-O-Nine (609) label.[1]

Career

L'Algerino grew up in Felix Pyat, a difficult neighborhood of Marseille. L'Algerino was introduced to rap at a very young age listening to Suprême NTM and IAM in the northern districts of Marseille. L'algerino has one brother named Aimene. He started rapping at the age of 11 and quickly began releasing mixtapes and appearing in local concerts. He had brief stints with groups B-Vice Junior and 45 Niggaz, releasing independent albums with both of them. He officially made a name for himself when he appeared on Psy 4 de la Rime's album Block Party, and then on Akhenaton's Black Album. He would later go on tour with IAM.

He released his debut album titled Les derniers seront les premiers in 2005 on the 361 Recordz label. After relative success of his debut album, he then released in 2007 Mentalité pirate which gained fame, through tracks like "L'Envie de vaincre", "Fleur fanée", "Johnny Hama" and the sentimental "Entre deux flammes".

On 29 March 2010, he released his third album Effet miroir. The hit single "Sur la tête de ma mère" became a huge popular success for the artist. In 2011, he released the follow-up album C'est correct and collaborated with Tal in "La sens de la vie" in an amended version with additional rap by L'Algérino on an already big hit for Tal.

In 2014 he released his new album Aigle royal, followed by Oriental Dream in 2015 and Banderas on 28 October 2016.
