Kujata (mythology)

Kujata (Arabic: كيوثاء Kuyūthā) is a mythological being, in Arabian mythology.

Legend of Kujata

As the world was unstable, God created an angel of immense size and ordered him to go beneath the lowest earth and place it on his shoulders, but his feet had no support. So God created a rock of ruby, and ordered this rock to stand under the feet of the angel. But there was no support for the ruby. So God created a big bull called Kujata to support the ruby. But there was no support for the bull. So God created a giant fish called Bahamut to support the bull (a quantity of sand was introduced between the bull and the fish).[1]
