Krishnagar Government College, established in 1846,[1] is the oldest college in Nadia district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences and also some of the postgraduate courses. It is affiliated to University of Kalyani (KU), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and University grant commission (UGC).[2]

Krishnagar Government College was awarded A (CGPA : 3.17, 2015)grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).[3] The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[1] The college is also awarded with "COLLEGE WITH POTENTIAL FOR EXCELLENCE" in the year 2010.[4] The college also has a long list of alumni members.[5]
