Corners/Segments

The show consists of several segments. The main segment is "Guess About Me," where the guests present questions about themselves to the cast members (ex. "What have I been obsessed with lately?"). The cast members must attempt to answer the questions correctly in an effort to get to know the guests better. If their answers are completely off, the guests have the option to punish them.

The cast also takes questions sent in from viewers and tries to answer them to the best of their abilities through dialogue or experimentation. Cast members have to answer with their own style, using everything (body and brain) to find the solution to the viewers' questions.[2]

Sometimes a viewer is brought out at the end of the show. They will have been secretly watching the show the whole day to decide who was the least funny or helpful. Once they decide, the chosen cast member or guest is punished.

The episodes may also feature one of the following corners:

During these segments, the talk is informal and "banmal" (informal language) is used by everyone on the show, regardless of their age or seniority (disregarding Korea's strict seniority rules with spoken language). The informal talk also encourages the guests and cast to interact with each other as students often do, leading them to tease one another and even insult each other for the sake of comedy.

Presenters

Cast

The program's original cast consisted of Kang Ho-dong, Lee Soo-geun, Seo Jang-hoon, Kim Young-chul, Kim Hee-chul, Hwang Chi-yeul and Kim Se-hwang.[3][4] Min Kyung-hoon was added to the cast formation on the second episode aired on December 12, 2015. Hwang Chi-yeul and Kim Se-hwang left the program after the seventh episode aired on January 16, 2016. Lee Sang-min joined the program as the newest addition to the cast on March 5, 2016.

Current cast

Name Nickname(s) Duration Notes
Kang Ho-dong Episode 1 present He is the leader, the main MC, and the oldest among the cast members. Since the program's first episode, he has been looked to as the "lead" of the show and often fills the role of "class president" in current episodes.. As a champion ssireum wrestler before he became a comedian and variety host, he is also the strongest member in Knowing Bros. He is mostly made fun by other members for his outdated comedy sense[5][6] and his well-known professional hosting rivalry with Yoo Jae-suk, the "National MC" of South Korea.[7][8][9]
Lee Soo-geun Ace Episode 1 present He is one of the original members of Knowing Bros. He is known for his long-time association with the main MC Kang Hodong, his athletic ability in playing games, and his quick-wit in making jokes and doing completely improvised, script-less comedy skits. He is mostly made fun of for his past gambling scandal by other cast members.[10][11] He often fills the role of "class president" and is looked on as a favorite by guests.
Kim Hee-chul Psycho

TV mania

Episode 1 present Famous as a singer, actor, and member of Super Junior and M&D, he is one of the original members of Knowing Bros. He is known for his quick wit and responses. He regularly makes jokes about smoking and cigarettes, especially to the female guests, as well as teasing and poking fun of Kang Ho-dong and female guests. Despite his mischievous personality, his demeanor changes when other idols, including ones he has worked with or knows, are guests.[12][13] He is most often made fun of for being close to so many female idols, despite being officially single, and for his ability to pass for a woman, including his well-known ability to mimic almost every K-Pop dance by girl groups. Some of his special skills in the program are "imitating Kyung-hoon's singing style",[14] "remembering all of 'TV' history",[15] and "imitating other people's voices".[16] In fall 2016, he and Kyung-hoon released a single, Sweet Dream, under SM Entertainment, with the music video starring the rest of the Knowing Brothers cast and Twice's Momo and the video shoot being the focus of one episode.
Seo Jang-hoon Episode 1 present He is one of the original members of Knowing Brosand is regarded as one of, if not the top, center in Korean Basketball League history from his career before entertainment. He is mostly made fun of because of his height, - 207 centimetres (81 in) - his divorced status, his grumpy personality, and his building ownership.[10][11] He is known as the "father" of Min Kyung-hoon.
Kim Young-chul D.a.n.g Boss Episode 1 present He is one of the original members of Knowing Bros. A comedian by profession, he is famously teased for his ambiguous ability in speaking English and his inability of being funny in ad-libbing and doing improvised skits. He is well known for his hilarious imitations and gag-type comedic style.
Min Kyung-hoon Ssamja Episode 2 present The lead vocalist of the band Buzz, he is currently the youngest recurring host. He is known for making adult jokes to the other members and the guests. Along with Kim Hee-chul, Min Kyung-hoon is also famous for his rebellious and challenging nature to Kang Ho-dong.[17] He is also known as the "son" of Seo Jang-hoon. He is popular with female guests and is accused of using his dimples to try to win their affection.
Lee Sang-min Episode 14 present He is known as the leader of rap group Roo'ra. He is also known for giving genuine advice from personal experience to other musicians who appear on the show. He is most often made fun of for his financial debt, his divorced status and other controversies around himself and fellow Roo'ra members.[10][11] He is often teased for being so quiet and "forgettable" in the eyes of the other cast members and guests.
