Ken James (Canadian actor)

Ken James[1] (born in Canada on March 11, 1934 as Kenneth James) was an actor, best known for playing Ancil Hoffman in Cinderella Man (2005) and for playing the newspaper boss in The Shipping News. He portrayed Abel in the Canadian survivalist horror film, Rituals and played Alastair Grady on the Canadian TV Series, Wind at my Back.

He appeared in more than 100 film and television roles, CBC radio and performed live on stage across Canada, including for the Stratford Festival. For two years James was the leading man at Ottawa’s Town Theatre where he appeared in A Shot In the dark, The Lion In Winter, Philadelphia, Here I Come!, See How They Run, and others. [2][3]

He died in Toronto on September 21, 2016.
