Kean: Genius or Scoundrel (Italian: Kean - Genio e sregolatezza) is a 1956 Italian biographical drama film co-written and directed by Vittorio Gassman. A dramatization of the life of Edmund Kean, it is based on the 1836 drama play Kean, ou Désordre et Génie of Alexandre Dumas and on its 1953 adaptation with the same name by Jean-Paul Sartre.[1][2]
