Biography

The duo formed in 2008 and released their first track Karanda in 2009 on Inov8 Recordings where it received support from huge names such as former #1 DJ Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules and many more. They were signed to Enhanced Music in late 2011 where most of their work has been released.[1]

James was interviewed on BBC Radio 1 by Judge Jules in 2009. They officially remixed Markus Schulz's 'Last Man Standing' in 2011. They also officially remixed Ellie Goulding's 'Beating Heart' in 2014 for Universal Music with Andrew Wilson, but for unknown reasons this was unreleased. It however did receive airplay on Capital FM and Kiss FM in the UK.

It was announced on 5 June 2014 on their Facebook page that the project would come to an end, and that James would continue under a solo artist under the name Vytl[2] However, James announced on 5 June 2015 that the Karanda name would return but under a solo act.

The duo also hosted 2 radio shows. The Karanda Show which ran from 2009 till the end of 2013 and KARNAGE which ran from January 2014 until June 2014. Both shows aired on Digitally Imported.[3] James now hosts the monthly Karanda Chart as a podcast on iTunes and SoundCloud.
