Kapil Krishna Thakur was an Indian politician and a member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Bangaon (Lok Sabha constituency), West Bengal.

He won the Indian general election, 2014 being an All India Trinamool Congress candidate.[1] He is a graduate of the University of Calcutta.[2]

He was the eldest son of Matua Barama Binapani Devi and the sanghadhipati of Matua Mahasangha. The estimated seven-million-strong Matua sect comprises West Bengal's second largest scheduled caste population. The Namasudra refugees had migrated from former East Pakistan. Majulkrishna Thakur is his younger brother.[3]

He died at Kolkata on 13 October 2014, after being ill for sometime.[3]
