History

The station originally signed on the air in November 1968 as KPNW-FM with a beautiful music format. KPNW-FM transitioned to a soft adult contemporary format in the mid-1980s, branded as "Lite 99.1", before switching to oldies and the current KODZ calls in 1994.

The station was previously owned by Clear Channel Communications. The station recently shifted from oldies from the late 1950s, 1960s, & early 1970s to classic hits from the 1960s, 1970s, & 1980s.
