Jurij Tepeš (born 14 February 1989) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

His father Miran Tepeš was also a ski jumper, now he is a technical delegate at Men's FIS Ski Jumping World Cup. His sister Anja Tepeš is also a ski jumper competing in Ladies' World Cup.

Career

Tepeš won a bronze medal at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo in the Team Large Hill event. In season 2010/11 he got his first podium in World Cup Team event with Slovenia. For the first time in his career he won individual in a Grand Prix competition in Almaty, Kazakhstan.[1]

In season 2011/12 he won for the first time for the first Slovenia World Cup Team event. In FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2012 in Vikersund he won bronze medal at Team event. On this competition Tepeš jumped the Slovenian national record with 235.5 meters. He was the record holder for only a short period of time. He won individual in a Grand Prix competition in Almaty, Kazakhstan for the second time in his career.[2]

The 2012/13 is the far most successful World Cup season in his career yet. In Vikersund he set his personal best jump with 237 meters.[3] First time in his career went on an individual podium with 3rd place in Harrachov ski flying event where he fell at hill record, official 220 meters[4] long, as measuring system was set no further than this distance (unofficially they handmeasured him 225 meters). He won three Team events with Slovenia. At last he won his first career individual world cup event in Planica.[5]

On 22 March 2015 in Planica, Tepeš became one of the few ski jumpers to achieve a "perfect jump", with all five judges giving him top style marks of 20.[6]
