Julian Fernandez (born 26 October 1970) is a Spanish Football Manager and is currently the Assistant coach of Real Oviedo in the Segunda División. Fernandez has coaching experience with Atletico de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano SAD, Real Madrid C.F., Alcobendas Sport, Volga Nizhny Novgorod, AD Parla, the United Arab Emirates , FC Porto and Real Oviedo in the Segunda División.[1][2]

Managerial career

Atletico de Madrid

Fernandez was appointed as the Coach in the Atletico de Madrid Academy Club.

Rayo Vallecano SAD

Fernandez served as the assistant coach under the Head Coach Jose Miguel Gonzalez in the Spanish second division for the 2005–06 season.

Real Madrid C.F.

Real Madrid C.F. officially appointed Fernandez as the head coach of their Under 19 team for three years. He also served as the Assistant Coach for Real Madrid Castilla C.F..

Alcobendas Sport

After having work for Real Madrid, he accepted an offer from Alcobendas Sport to be their head coach for a season.

Volga Nizhny Novgorod

Fernandez was appointed as the head coach of the Russian Premier League side Volga Nizhny Novgorod.

AD Parla

In 2011–12 season, he became the head coach of AD Parla and managed to secure a spot in the playoffs to the Spanish second division [3]

Al Jazira Club

Fernandez was appointed as the first team assistant coach under Head Coach Luis Milla for the entire 2012–13 season for United Arab Emirates. In addition he was took charge of the reserve team as their head coach.[4]

FC Porto

FC Porto officially appointed Fernandez as the assistant coach under the Head Coach Julen Lopetegui in the Portuguese Premier League. FC Porto reached the quarterfinals of the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League and also finished second in the 2014–15 Primeira Liga table.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Real Oviedo

Since July 2016 is Real Oviedo's assistant coach [12]
