Joseph Lindsey

Joseph Lindsey is an American actor.

Theatrical acting

After an extensive career on the New York stage where he played such leading men as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, Joe Boneapart in Golden Boy, Hamlet in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and Iago in Othello, Joseph Lindsey earned wide recognition for his portrayal of the troubled Tchaikovsky in the Broadway hit play based on the composers life. From there he went on to star opposite Academy Award-winner, Mira Sorvino, in the critically acclaimed Fine Line film, Amongst Friends. He has played opposite Keanu Reeves in Alfonso Arau’s A Walk in the Clouds, opposite Eric Roberts in the HBO original film Public Enemies, where he portrayed the true-life story of Herman Barker, of the infamous Ma Barker clan. He was also seen opposite Sam Elliott and Linda Fiorentino in TNT’s The Desperate Trail.

Movie and television career

Most recently he starred in Artisans theatrically released film Caught Up, as the cool and hip Billy Grimm opposite Bokiem Woodbine and Cinda Williams. Yet to be released are the independent films Lone Greasers, where he stars as an out-of-control drummer in a rock band. In the feature Chocolate for Breakfast he plays the up-tight lawyer Mike. Both films are headed for the festival circuit in 2004.

Along with numerous television roles he has been working behind the scenes in developing his own material such as his one man show “You Can Lead a Person to Reality but you can’t make them Think” performed in New York. He has written the screenplays “Smells Like School Spirit” for Go Mode Productions and “Winning at Waterloo” for Saleem Films.

Born in San Jose, California, he moved to New York City to pursue his acting and writing career. After 12 years in Hollywood, he now makes his home in Colorado Where he continues the life of a Hollywood writer from afar and become an expert on the fine are of show business infiltration. His second book, and first novel "LIFE TO THE RIGHT OF HOLLYWOOD" is due out soon. He is a regular writer for Big Hollywood.
