Josef W. Wegner
Josef William Wegner (born October 1967) is an American Egyptologist[1] and Associate Professor in Egyptology at the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations of the University of Pennsylvania,[2] where he obtained his PhD degree in Egyptology. He is noted for his continued research at Abydos, where he discovered the tomb of pharaoh Sobekhotep I in 2013 and that of pharaoh Seneb Kay in 2014.[3][4] He is the son of astrophysicist Gary Wegner.
