Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal-Escueta (born November 6, 1978) is a Filipina actress, the Original Multimedia Superstar, a multi-platinum recording artist and pop singer, TV host, and entrepreneur.
Career
Magdangal started her career by signing with talent agency Star Magic and made her debut on ABS-CBN channel's Ang TV on 1992. In her early years, she worked as a teen idol and also released her own brand of dolls. She was one of the most bankable artist of her generation, having blockbuster movies that was produced by ABS-CBN's film outfit called Star Cinema, commercials and regular TV shows.[1] But from then, In 2002, she parted ways with her network and moved to GMA where she remained for twelve years. She later returned to ABS-CBN in 2014.
Apart from acting, Magdangal is also a pop singer and recording artist. She has released several albums with original OPM songs. Her most notable releases were Jolina (1999) and On Memory Lane (2000) which were certified platinum for selling more than 150,000 copies.[2]
Personal life
In November 2011, she married Rivermaya's drummer Mark Escueta. On July 15, 2013, they announced that they are expecting their first child.[3] Their son was born in February 2014.[4]
