John Shea (playwright)
John Shea (born February 10, 1964 in Somerville, Massachusetts) is an American playwright.[1][2] Most of his plays are set in his hometown of Somerville, an old industrial suburb of Boston which has gentrified rapidly in the early 21st century.[3]
Shea attended the playwrighting program at Boston University.[4] He lives in the Magoun Square neighborhood of Somerville.[5]
Shea was a Huntington Theatre Company Playwriting Fellow.[6] His play, Claire Silva, was about his 10-year-old nephew, Jeffrey Curley, who was kidnapped, raped and murdered.[3]
