John Hunter (Consul-General)
Sir John Hunter (died 3 July 1816) was British Consul-General in Madras, Seville and St Lucar, Spain.[1]
Knighted by the Prince-Regent on 10 December 1813.
Married 1787 Margaret Congalton, daughter of Dr Charles Congalton. Married second 1793 Elizabeth Barbara Arbuthnot, daughter of Robert Arbuthnot 2nd of Haddo-Rattray.
