John Florio Prize

The John Florio Prize for Italian translation is a prize awarded by the Society of Authors,[1] with the co-sponsorship of the British-Italian Society. Named after the Tudor Anglo-Italian writer-translator John Florio, the prize was established in 1963. Today it is awarded biannually for the best English translation of a full-length work of literary merit and general interest.[2]
