James McLarty (later billed as Jim McLarty to avoid confusion with another actor of the same name) is a Canadian-born actor and voice actor.

Life and career

McLarty re-located to New Zealand in 1990. McLarty is known for his voice role as Broodwing in Power Rangers: SPD. He guest-starred on Power Rangers: Mystic Force as a Styxoid in "Light Source (2)". He also portrayed Dr. Medland in Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive. More recently, he portrayed The Grand Shogun in Power Rangers: Super Samurai.

McLarty has also appeared, usually in small roles, in both theatrical and TV films such as The Boy Who Could Fly, Jamaica Inn, The Tommyknockers, The Frighteners, and a recurring role of Pankos in Xena: Warrior Princess. One of his earliest roles was that of "Horse", in the Ivan Reitman comedy Meatballs. In the film, his character was pantsed during the basketfull game sequence and he later lost a footrace to Chris Makepeace's character. McLarty also appeared briefly in the first few scenes of Evil Dead, the 2013 reboot of the well-known Evil Dead franchise, as a father forced to kill his possessed daughter in the basement of an old cabin.
