Jillian Whiting

Jillian Whiting is a former presenter with the Nine Network in Brisbane, having presented both Nine News Brisbane and Nine Gold Coast News, as well as the local Brisbane magazine show Extra.

Career

Born in regional Queensland, Jillian took up a position as a research assistant in 1991 with Seven News Queensland where she later became a reporter and weekend news presenter.

She joined Nine News Brisbane in 1996 as a reporter and soon became presenter of the weekend news. She became presenter of the weekday news in 2002, but later returned to weekends with the birth of her first child.

In 2006 she became presenter of that station's local Gold Coast news bulletin after production moved to Brisbane, and soon after assumed role as presenter of Extra, the local news magazine program.

In December 2008, Whiting resigned from the Nine Network in Brisbane.[1]

In January 2009, Jillian returned to the Seven Network where she is a presenter on Queensland Weekender and a fill-in as presenter on Seven News Brisbane.
