Jerome Cunningham (born May 25, 1991) is an American football tight end for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Southern Connecticut State.
Professional career
After going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, Cunningham was invited to the Indianapolis Colts' minicamp, but he did not receive a contract offer and spent the 2013 season out of football.[1]
New York Giants
On August 5, 2014, Cunningham was signed by the New York Giants.[2] On August 26, 2014, he was waived.[3] On September 3, 2014, Cunningham was added to the Giants' practice squad.[4] Cunningham spent the first 15 weeks of the 2014 regular season on the practice squad. On December 17, 2014, Cunningham was promoted to the active roster for the last two games of the regular season.[5][6]
Cunningham made the Giants' 53-man roster to begin the 2015 regular season.[7] On October 18, 2015, he was waived by the Giants.[8] He was re-signed to the Giants' practice squad on October 21, 2015.[9] Cunningham was promoted to the active roster on November 5, 2015.[10] On May 5, 2016, the Giants waived Cunningham.[11]
New York Jets
Cunningham was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets on May 9, 2016.[12] On May 24, 2016, he was waived.[13]
Tennessee Titans
On May 25, 2016, Cunningham was claimed off waivers by the Tennessee Titans.[14] On September 2, 2016, he was released by the Titans as part of final roster cuts.[15] The next day, he was signed to the Titans' practice squad.[16]
