Japan Baptist Convention

The Japan Baptist Convention (日本バプテスト連盟 Nippon Baputesuto Renmei) is a Baptist denominational body in Japan.

The first Southern Baptist missionaries to Japan arrived in 1890.[1] By 1989, the Japan Baptist Convention had 242 churches with about 31,654 members. The Southern Baptists first concentrated on western and southern Japan, especially the island of Kyushu, but later spread throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
