'Jannaram Mandal is situated in Adilabad District of the Telangana state in South India. It was previously in the Telangana district of Andhra Pradesh.

History

Jannaram became mandal with effect from May 22, 1985. Before which it was in the Luxettipet Taluka.

Jannaram is the forest Division. The Division had a saw mill which is closed now. The Divisional level forest offices are located here.

Gabbeta Satyanarayana is the present(2016) Tahsildar of Jannaram Mandal.

After delimitation, Jannaram presently falls in Khanapur Assembly Constituency. It was in the Luxettipet Assembly Constituency. Present khanapur MLA is mrs.Rekha shamnayak There are 1 PG college, 2 private degree colleges, 2 private Inter colleges and 1 Govt Inter college in jannaram mdl. In the early 90s and 80s, Jannaram was famous for its timber depot and government saw mill. Jannaram was once upon a time famous for thick bamboo forests in areas like Kalleda, Dongapalli, Islampur. The Kawal wildlife sanctuary falls in Jannaram mandal in the outskirts of headquarters Jannaram. Jannaram forest division is famous for its teak forests.Recently Kawal has been notified as Tiger reserved zone. It is 42nd zone in India.

There is a BSNL telephone exchange in Jannaram near bus stand. BSNL has a cell tower and an OFC repeater station in Jannaram.

Every Tuesday there is a village weekly market in Jannaram.The major occupation of the people of jannaram is agriculture. There are no large scale or medium scale industries in Jannaram. Tribals living in jannaram are gondus and lambadas. The gonds use bamboo in the forests to make cane based products. There are no NGOs or other groups working here for upliftment of the tribals. The youth from these villages migrate to cities in search of employment. Rich tribals in jannaram give autos to poor tribals on daily rent basis.
