October 2014: SGN announced a partnership with Fox to release the companion game to the theatrical film release The Book of Life (2014 film). The mobile game, called "Book of Life: Sugar Smash" features the artwork and storyline from the film, in addition to audio from the celebrities in the film, including Zoe Saldana, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, and Christina Applegate.[14]

June 2013: SGN acquired Mob Science, a game studio based in Carlsbad, CA.[15]

2011: SGN, then called MindJolt,[16] was founded and was funded by Austin Ventures[17] and led by a team of Internet pioneers, with the CEO being Chris DeWolfe[18] and CTO being Aber Whitcomb, both co-founders of MySpace.[19]

Operations

Jam City utilizes MasterKey—a technology that allows the company to develop the game once and then quickly port it to all major platforms.[6] Jam City has totaled over 800 million game downloads,[3] which have also been installed on leading mobile and social platforms, making Jam City one of the largest cross-platform gaming companies in the world.[20] Jam City is responsible for more than a dozen Top 10 titles on the iTunes App Store and three #1 titles on the Amazon Appstore.[21] Jam City's most popular games to date include Cookie Jam and Panda Pop.
