Jahurul Islam (1 August 1928  19 October 1995) was a Bangladeshi entrepreneur.[1] He was the founder-chairman of the Islam Group.

Career

Islam started his career as a contractor and then in 1975 he established Bengal Development Corporation.[2] In 1965 he established the first real estate organisation in the country - Eastern Housing Ltd.

Legacy

In 1989 Islam founded Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital.[3] His son Manzurul Islam is the current chairman of Islam Group.[2]
