Jack Welch is an American football coach in the United States.

Coaching career

Kansas Wesleyan

Welch was the 17th head football coach for the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes located in Salina, Kansas and he held that position for two seasons, from 1985 until 1986. His coaching record at Kansas Wesleyan was 8 wins, 12 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2009 season, this ranks him 11th at Kansas Wesleyan in total wins and in winning percentage (.400).[1]

The results Welch produced at Kansas Wesleyan were considered a "turnaround" because the year before his arrival, the team had winless season.[2] At the time, the program had the nations's longest losing streak in NAIA football.[3]

Other coaching positions

Welch's coaching career also includes stops at West Texas State University, Fort Scott Community College, and Louisiana Tech University.[4]

Jack Welch is currently the Athletic Director and Head Football coach for Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas. Welch has 150 wins, 1 tie, and 51 losses since his 1994 debut at Copperas Cove. Jack Welch's accomplishments also include 12 years in the playoffs, and two appearances in the Texas 4A State Championship. Jack Welch has the most wins of any Head Coach in Copperas Cove history with victories over many of Texas' most notorious 4A and 5A power houses to include Odessa Permian and National Champion Southlake Carroll.

Education

Welch earned a bachelor's degree from Taylor University in Indiana and master's from West Texas State University,[5] and Doctrate from the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor
