JVC Broadcasting
JVC Broadcasting (also known as JVC Media) is a privately owned company headquartered in Ronkonkoma, New York that owns four radio stations on Long Island, New York.
The company founded in 2008 derives its initials from its founders John Caracciolo and Vic Canales. It is not associated with the electronics company with the same initials.[1]
History
The company has its roots in the Morey Organization which owned nine stations in New York. John Caracciolo was associated with the company for 20 years most of the time as president.[1][2]
In 2003 Morey sold its stations outside of New York and in 2004 sold its flagship WLIR (92.7 FM). In 2006 it entered into an agreement with Business Talk Radio to sell the remaining station Long Island stations. When the deal fell through in 2007 Carcciolo brought in Canales (better known by his air name of Vic Latino) to reinvigorate the brand and start a Spanish station on the frequency of WBON.[2]
In late 2008 Morey principal owner Ron Morey offered to sell the stations to Caracciolo and Canales. The purchase closed in October 2009 They changed WDRE to the WPTY ("party") designation.[2]
In March 2012, the Brookhaven Town Board approved a five-year agreement with Long Island Events, the event division of JVC Broadcasting, to produce, manage and operate the Brookhaven Amphitheater, and it was subsequently announced that an agreement has been reached with All Island Media to rename the venue the Pennysaver Amphitheater at Bald Hill.[3]

The stations it owns are:
- WRCN (103.9 FM), Riverhead, New York, news/talk and home of the New York Jets
- WJVC (96.1 FM), Center Moriches, New York, Long Island's only country music station.
- WPTY (105.3 FM), Calverton, New York, adult dance music "Party 105"
- WBON (98.5 FM), Westhampton, New York, the only commercial Spanish language station on Long Island.
JVC added the following stations to its roster in 2013:[4]
- WMFQ (92.9 FM), Ocala, Florida, hot adult contemporary "Q92"
- WXJZ (100.9 FM), Gainesville, Florida, classic hits "WOW FM"
- WTRS (now WXUS) (102.3 FM), Dunnellon, Florida, country/southern rock "US 102.3"
- WYGC (104.9 FM), High Springs, Florida, news/talk "The Talk"
- WGMW was sold to RDA Broadcast Holdings, LLC on June 3, 2014 for $3.5 million.
JVC added the following stations in 2014:
- WBGF (93.5 FM), West Palm Beach, Florida, mainstream rock "The Bar"
- WSWN (900 AM), West Palm Beach, Florida, news/talk "The Talk"
- WSVU (960 AM, 95.9 FM, and 106.9 FM), West Palm Beach, Florida, adult contemporary "The Palm"
- WOTW (103.1 FM), Orlando, Florida, country "The Wolf"
