The Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar (Urdu:اسلامیه کالیج آف ساینس ایند کامرس,سرینگر) (commonly referred to as Islamia College or ICSC) is a University Grants Commission Autonomous College,and is credited as B++ by university in the state of Jammu and Kashmir located on a 12.17-acre (0.0493 km2) campus in Srinagar. The Islamia College of Science and Commerce,

is affiliated to the University of Kashmir, is a premier learning Institute of the Jammu and Kashmir State. It has the distinction to be the first college in J&K to take the lead in incorporating the CBCS from the year 2015

Establishment

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir established this Institute in 1961[1] during the Prime- ministership of Late Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad as an Autonomous Educational Institute.

Awards and achievements

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (NAAC) has accrediting the college at B++ level[3] in its Certificate issued on November 4, 2004; the Institutional score being 84.00 under the scale 80 85. It was accredited as the College for Potential Excellence by the University Grants Commission (India) in April 2010.[4]

Adventures Activities

The college has also Mountaineering & Trekking Club which is affiliated with The Jammu & Kashmir Mountaineering and Trekking Association. The students of the college keenly participate in the activities held by the Club, of which Agha Maalek E Ashtar is the captain.
