The Irish Sports Council or ISC (Irish: Comhairle Spóirt na hÉireann) is the organisation which directs the development of sport within Ireland.[1]

The ISC is a statutory authority and was established in July 1999 under powers provided by the Irish Sports Council Act.[2] Its remit is to plan, lead and co-ordinate the sustainable development of competitive and recreational sport in Ireland.

The ISC comprises eight major divisions including: the Anti-Doping Unit; Corporate Services, Finance, High Performance; Local Sports Partnerships; National Governing Bodies; National Trails Office and the Irish Institute of Sport.[3]
