Infusionsoft is a private company that offers an e-mail marketing and sales platform for small businesses, including products to streamline the customer lifecycle, customer relationship management, marketing automation, lead capture, and e-commerce.[2][3][4][5][6] It is based in Chandler, Arizona.

In 2013, Great Place to Work and Fortune Magazine ranked Infusionsoft 17th Best Medium Workplace. In 2011, it was ranked 15th Best Small to Medium Workplace in America.[7][8]

Infusionsoft is one of the fastest growing private companies in Arizona, adding 240 jobs between 2012 and 2013.[4][8][9][10][11][12] The company received $54 million in venture capital from Goldman Sachs in early 2013.[4][8][9][10][11][12] In total, the company has generated over $125 million in funding.[13]

History

Infusionsoft was founded in 2001 by brothers Scott and Eric Martineau and Clate Mask.[14] The company began as a start-up in Mesa, Arizona with an office next to a mattress store.[14][15][16] In 2004, the company wrote a script to automate sales leads, which became the foundation of Infusionsoft’s Saas product range.[14]

Infusionsoft’s revenues increased 50% between 2011 and 2012.[17][18] By January 2013, Infusionsoft had raised $71 million in venture capital with $54 million invested by Goldman Sachs.[8][9][10][17][19] Later that month, Infusionsoft purchased GroSocial, a social media marketing software company.[10][19][20][21][22]

In 2014, Infusionsoft concluded its Series D funding led by Bain Capital Ventures that generated an additional $55 million. In total, the company has raised over $125 million.[13][23]

Company overview

Infusionsoft offers an integrated email marketing platform designed for small businesses with fewer than 25 employees.[9][14][24] Specific features of the platform include lead scoring, web tracking, and social media tools.[9][10][17][22]

The company is now based in an 90,000 square foot facility with a small football field in the facility’s center and a cereal bar for employees.[14][15][25] Infusionsoft has a customer base of 25,000 and 87,000 software users.[1] The company operates an additional office in Lehi, Utah that it opened in June 2014.[26]

Infusionsoft hosts events such as InfusionCon, an annual conference for small businesses.[24][27] Around 2000 people attended the conference in 2012.[24] The event was renamed ICON in 2014 for its eighth annual conference held in Phoenix, which had over 3000 attendees.[28] In 2015, Infusionsoft hosted the Main Street Forum in New York City that included attendees such as executives from American Express, OnDeck, Mashable, Wall Street Journal and other companies.[29]

Services

Infusionsoft offers a subscription based all-in-one sales and marketing SaaS product for small businesses with fewer than 25 employees.[5][6][24][30][31][32][33] The integrated platform lets users manage their small business by pulling together data points related to sales, marketing, leads, payments, customers, and more.[5][30][32][33]

The platform can create and host Web forms and links, execute automated campaigns and track ROIs, provides real-time customer updates for sales, lets users manage customer databases, and includes e-commerce functionality letting users manage shopping carts, product pages, dynamic discounts and coupon codes.[5][30][32][33]

Infusionsoft also offers contact management apps for mobile devices. In April 2012, Infusionsoft opened a marketplace that includes more than 70 apps compatible with its software suites that incorporate tools such as SMB text messaging.[30] The GroSocial system that Infusionsoft acquired in 2013 was integrated into the CRM, e-commerce and marketing automation tools to allow small businesses to use social media platforms to grow customer base.[10]

Awards and recognition

Infusionsoft was named by Inc. as a 2013 Hire Power Awardee and ranked number 4 in the software category with over 240 jobs created in a year.[4][11] Infusionsoft has been honored as an Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest growing private company 7 times as of 2013.[12] Inc. also ranked the company #47 on its list of Top 100 Arizona Companies and #44 on its list of companies in the Phoenix metro.[12]
