Ian Rickson

Ian Rickson (born 8 November 1963) is a British theatre and film director. He was the artistic director at the Royal Court Theatre in London from 1998 to 2006,[1] and currently works freelance.

In 2009 he was made an honorary professor for Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Kent's School of Arts.[2]

A former pupil of John Roan School in Greenwich, he studies at Essex University and Goldsmiths' College, and still lives in south-east London. He is married to Polly Teale with whom he has a daughter, Eden Rickson and he has a son, Jack Gould, from a previous relationship.
