IMG Worlds of Adventure is an indoor amusement park in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. It is Dubai’s first mega themed entertainment destination promising visitors from around the world the excitement of four epic adventure zones in one location. Two of the four zones represent renowned global brands Cartoon Network and Marvel, while IMG Boulevard and the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure zones are original concepts created by the IMG Group.

IMG Worlds of Adventure is the largest temperature controlled indoor themed entertainment destination in the world, covering an area in excess of 1.5 million square feet. With the capacity to welcome more than 20,000 guests a day, the destination is featuring a unique array of adrenaline-pumping roller coasters, thrill rides, and spine-tingling attractions based on popular Cartoon Network characters, iconic Marvel Super Heroes and hair-raising dinosaurs. Additionally, the destination is the home to a number of world-firsts, a variety of themed retail stores, exclusive dining venues, and a 12-screen state-of-the-art cinema.

Situated within City of Arabia, along Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, IMG Worlds of Adventure is set to be a must-visit international destination, bringing the best of family entertainment to Dubai’s growing leisure industry.

History

The park was built by the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari (IMG) Group and is the world's largest indoor theme park.[1][2] The park was part of the City of Arabia development project, a part of Dubailand, which was stalled due to the 2008 property crash.[3][4] In April 2014, the park got a Dh1.2 billion ($326 million) loan from the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.[5][2] The park itself is valued over $1 Billon.[6] Developers predict that the park will welcome 10,000 visitors daily, and has the capacity to hold up to 20,000 daily.[4][7] The complex was originally set to open in early 2014, has been since been delayed to late 2014, and again to August 31, 2016[6] The IMG Group stated in January 2014 that the foundations for the rides were nearly complete and that the structure of the building is complete.[8]

The park includes 17 themed rides.[4]

Themed areas

The park contains four themed areas, called "Epic Zones".[9] The park also contains a 12-screen cinema.[6] Falcon's Creative Group was the primary design firm involved in designing process.[10]
