Horatio Gates Knight (March 24, 1818 – October 16, 1895) was an American politician, manufacturer and philanthropist who served as the 30th Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1875 to 1879.
Knight apprenticed with store-keeper Samuel Williston as a boy and the two later worked as business partners, establishing and operating manufacturing businesses in Easthampton, Massachusetts.[1] He married Mary Ann Huntoon, and his daughter was the composer Mary Knight Wood.[2]
