Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild or HKPAG (Chinese: 香港演藝人協會) is the main non-profit labour association for Hong Kong artistes, canto-pop singers and stage performers. It was formed on December 12, 1993. Its current Chairman is a singer named Eric Tsang.

The "HKPAG" is a member of the International Society for the Performing Arts. It was founded by a group of leading Hong Kong performers including Jackie Chan, Anita Mui, Chow Yun-fat and Maggie Cheung.

The four main objectives of HKPAG include: strengthening, bonding, and communication amongst fellow performing artistes, improving professional standards and qualities, promoting and protecting performing artists' rights and contributing to charity activities.

How is the HKPAG organized?

HKPAG is funded by people with a strong passion for media projects and donators. It is run by the Executive Committee of 21 representatives elected by members bi-annually.

History

On August 11, 1993, close to a hundred of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Workers gathered to set up an organization which belongs to the people of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, to further enhance the professionalism.

That night, they also elected temporary members of the preparatory committee, which include, Jackie Chan, Michael Hui, Chow Yun-fat as a vice president. And there are more than twenty members from different performing arts level include: Eric Tsang, Andhra respect, Money Lo, Lam Kin-ming, Wei LieGe Wenhui, Jan Lamb, Ho Kam Wah, Anita Mui, Jacky Cheung, Maggie Cheung, Sandra Ng, Yammie Lam, Danny Lee, Richard Ng, Frankie Chan, Nat Chan, Tommy Wong, Carina Lau, Chen Guo-Xin, Philip Chan, Dong Wei, Guo Xiuyun, Lvshao Ling are all extensive advicer.

On December 12, 1993, the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild held the first session of the General Assembly at the Jubilee Sports Institute, and officially declared the establishment of this Council, the birth of the first session of the Governing Council via the vote.
