This is a Korean name; the family name is Hong.

Hong Gil-dong (Hangul: 홍길동; Hanja: 洪吉童; 1440 – 1510?) was a Korean thief during the Joseon Dynasty.[1] The novel Tale of Hong Gildong and fictional character of the same name are based on Hong Gil-dong's story. His half brother was politician Hong Il-dong.
