Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) is the largest local television network in Vietnam
History
Its original name was Saigon Television. Founded in 1966, the network became HTV on May 1, 1975. HTV is located in Ho Chi Minh City.
Operations
HTV has an office in Ha Noi. HTV produce and broadcast 17 channels. HTV7 - General Entertainment; HTV9 - General Information; HTV1 - General Information; HTV2 - General Entertainment; HTV3 - Kids and Teenagers; HTV4 - Education; HTVC - Film; HTVC - Vietnamese; HTVC - Music; HTVC - Travel and Living; HTVC - Family; HTVC - Women; HTV - Sports; HTVC - Home Shopping; HTVC Plus - General information; HTV Co-op - Home Shopping and FBNC - Financial and Banking. HTV broadcasts via satellite, terrestrial, cable and internet television using most advantage technology like DVB-S2, DVB-T2, MPEG-4 HD standard... HTV has a subsidary company as a media technology service company (named HTV TMS). This company also a cable operator with the brand name HTVC. TMS transmits more than 100 foreign and domestic channels for their services.
It buys many foreign formats (for example, Family Feud and So You Think You Can Dance) for its content. HTV also runs a TV magazine and website (htv.com.vn).
