Henry Herbert Tailors are an independent tailoring company based in London, England.[1] They are bespoke shirt and suit makers who have also established the city's first scooter-based suit service.[2][1][3][4][5][6]
History
Henry Herbert was founded in 2008 by Charlie Baker-Collingwood,[3] the former Publisher of Diplo magazine and Managing Editor of Monocle magazine.[7] With shirt making experience, a Vespa scooter and living in London he combined all three to create the Savile Row by Scooter service. The company today operates from No 9-10 Savile Row.[1][4][8]
Current operations
Their tailors and Vespa scooters are based in London,[3] although they are making increasingly frequent trips to New York where their second base will reportedly open in 2013.[1][9][10]
The company is independently owned by its founder.[1][4] Henry Herbert has a strong service-ethos, delivering tailoring in an innovative way, which has been widely reported.[11][12][13]
Marketing
The company's custom built scooters are painted in various suit fabrics.[4] They also created DB-Day, an annual event to campaign for more people to wear double breasted suits.[14]
